Why Apothecary Shoppe?
 

An Apothecary was the old time (18th century) Pharmacy~ a place you would go to acquire anything medical related, get treatment, have surgery, and find a midwife; but it's specialty was medicines. Although, they didn't have so many over-the-counter drugs~ they had herbs, and herbal remedies. The herbs and herbal concoctions were most commonly stored in beautiful glass jars and labeled drawers. For a herb girl like me, that would be a paradise! 

So that is my inspiration for this blog. This is a place to share my journey through learning about herbs, how to use them and preserve them, and their medical qualities. Another aspect that I would like to incorporate into this blog is natural personal hygiene. Using herbs and other natural elements that God created for just such a purpose in place of the harmful chemicals that make up our modern soaps, shampoos, etc. Just another of my passions!
